Job Summary
The On-Site Warehouse Staffing Supervisor Is a hands-on role that to oversees daily operations and team performance at a client warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will manage staffing functions, attendance, safety, and productivity while ensuring smooth workflow across all warehouse departments. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise the daily operations of temporary warehouse employees to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality performance.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the warehouse floor, engaging with employees, client supervisors, and the leadership team.
- Coordinate with staff to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse associates to improve performance and ensure adherence to company and client standards.
- Accurately complete daily attendance reports, including follow-up on absences and “no-shows.”
- Check in new associates on their first day and ensure proper orientation to site policies and procedures.
- Support client communication by addressing employee performance issues, safety concerns, and production goals.
- Promote a positive work culture through teamwork, accountability, and consistent communication.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience in warehouse leadership or supervision.
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes within a distribution or production environment.
- Experience in materials handling, ensuring proper storage, organization, and movement of products.
- Proficiency with warehouse or e-commerce systems for order processing (a plus).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a diverse workforce.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain organized, adaptable, and composed under pressure.
- Conflict resolution and team-building skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate, coach, and manage a team effectively.
- Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and material handling equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address inventory, logistics, and personnel issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication with staff, management, and occasionally vendors or customers.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation, inventory control, and compliance with safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Three to six months of related experience or training in warehouse production or operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $21-23/hr
- Paid Time Off (PTO): 15 days per calendar year (January–December)
