Mechanical Industrial Machinist
Full-time $30-32/HR
Position Summary
Expanded Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Industrial Machinist to 
support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the setup, maintenance, 
troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and components. The ideal candidate will ensure 
equipment reliability while producing high-quality fabricated parts that meet operational, safety, and 
performance standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other conventional machine 
shop equipment to manufacture precision components.
• Perform turning, milling, boring, threading, drilling, facing, and related machining operations on a 
variety of materials.
• Fabricate replacement and repair parts from raw stock when OEM components are unavailable, 
obsolete, or no longer supported.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and work instructions.
• Reverse engineer and machine parts from samples or worn components when formal drawings are not 
available.
• Select appropriate tooling, workholding methods, machine settings, cutting speeds, and feed rates to 
ensure optimum performance and quality.
• Consistently maintain dimensional accuracy and hold tolerances of ±0.0005 inch in accordance with 
engineering specifications.
• Verify finished dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, 
dial indicators, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards Perform routine machine 
maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and operational policies.
 
Required Skills & Competencies
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience as a machinist in a manufacturing, industrial 
maintenance, repair, or job shop environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in safely setting up and operating manual lathes and milling machines.
• Ability to independently machine parts from blueprints, sketches, samples, or verbal instructions.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, cutting conditions, feeds and speeds, and 
material characteristics.
• Experience machining a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Proven ability to consistently maintain tolerances of ±0.0005 inch.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
• CNC machining experience is a plus but is not required.
 
Education & Experience
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in mechanical fabrication, industrial maintenance, or 
manufacturing, or educational equivalent 
• Demonstrated experience fabricating and repairing metal components and machine parts.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training, apprenticeship, or mechanical certifications preferred.
• Experience in a production or fabrication environment strongly preferred.
 
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and working around machinery.
• Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying 
temperatures.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with company safety standards.
